Earlier this month I graduated from the Winchester School of
Art, University of Southampton!

Priley Riley, MA degree show, 1st September 2017
Last night was the private view for the Winchester School of Art MA degree show. It went well; the atmosphere was great and the feedback was positive. I’ve attached some close-up photos of my drawings.

Priley Riley, Update on ink drawings, 19th August 2017
Yesterday I finished displaying my drawings ready for my
final assessment on Wednesday 23rd, and the Winchester School of Art MA degree
show which is open to the public from the 1st to 6th
September.
I’m pleased with the result- I’m showing 40 out of the 62 ink
drawings I’ve produced over the last couple of months. I’ll share some close-up
photos of the drawings around the time of the exhibition.

Priley Riley, Ink drawings, July 2017
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been depicting what I see
on my day-to-day journey around Winchester in a series of ink drawings. I’ve
attached a few examples.

Priley Riley, Winchestival, June 2017
I went to Winchestival (a new festival in Winchester) yesterday,
where the sculpture I made of King Alfred the Great was on stage in the disco area.
I really enjoyed making the sculpture, seeing the sculpture at the festival,
and the day out generally (the music, comedy, great atmosphere, etc). So thank
you Winchestival!

Priley Riley, Finished King Alfred sculpture, April 2017
I’ve finished my sculpture and internship- final photos are
attached. I’m pleased with the outcome and, most importantly, so are
Winchestival.
As requested by Winchestival, the sculpture was made to
resemble the statue of King Alfred in Winchester.
On the day of the festival, the King Alfred sculpture will have
a shield that I made, a cape, and headphones to give it a more personalised
festival look.
I designed the shield to look like a vinyl (like the
Winchestival logo) with a turquoise centre to match the colour of the
headphones.
I really enjoyed the internship and look forward to visiting
the festival on the 17th of June.

Priley Riley, Sculpture update, 12th April 2017
I've been coating the sculpture in paint today, with an 'aged iron' affect spray paint. This sculpture internship continues again on the 20th (due to Easter) when I'll give the sculpture another coat of spray paint so it's slightly darker and more even. I'll then cover the paint in clear lacquer to seal it. The attached photos show the sculpture facing towards the setting sun.

Priley Riley, Internship sculpture, April 2017
I’m currently working as a Creative Intern, making a life
size sculpture of King Alfred the Great. The finished work will be on display at
Winchestival- a new family friendly festival in Winchester. So far I’ve
constructed the armature, built the frame of the body around this using two
layers of chicken wire, and covered this in a layer of Modroc (which is
basically plaster coated bandages).

Priley Riley, Mothers Day (UK), 26th March 2017
As its Mothers Day in the UK, I wanted to share my life drawings from
last Tuesday (21st March) of a mother-to-be. I spent between 5 and
15 minutes on each of the A3 pencil drawings shown. I had 2 of my life drawings,
depicting other female models, in a small exhibition at the Winchester School
of Art from the 20th to 22nd March.
In addition, I went to the ‘Small Faces’ exhibition at
Solent Showcase Gallery yesterday, where I have a pencil drawing of my mum on
display. My work is in the centre of the first two photos. I really enjoyed
seeing this exhibition and the diversity of the portraits on show.

Priley Riley, Update, 8th March 2017
A few updates on my work:
I’m pleased to share that I received a Merit on all three assessments last semester.
Last week I visited Modern Art Oxford, the Pitt Rivers Museum and the Ashmolean Museum with the Winchester School of Art.
I’m currently exhibiting a pencil portrait at Solent Showcase Gallery- nearly 600 people attended the exhibition’s opening on the 2nd of March! The exhibition is on until the 21st of April.
I’ve attached a few images of my current artwork. At the moment, I’m doing a lot of work on clothing; drawing clothing (top image), working into some of these drawings using Photoshop (2nd, 3rd and 4th images), knitting items of clothing, and (by contrast) doing life drawing. I’ve also been taking photographs, for example of my fiancĂ© and his luminous clothing reflecting onto the window of a train.
