Meet Fuji- the inspiration behind my bearded dragon designs!

On 6th July 2019 I visited the RSPCA. On arrival, they had one available bearded dragon and asked if I would like to hold her. She decided to sit on my shoulder- I think we chose each other! The very next day she was living with my husband and I.

Fuji has a big personality. Her favourite things are having her nose rubbed (during which she'll slowly close her eyes) and eating locusts, calci worms and exotic fruits. I named her Fuji because she's beautiful and majestic like the mountain.

I hope to capture her beauty and character in my drawings.

My name is Paula (artist name Priley Riley) and in 2016 I graduated from Loughbrough University with a BA in Fine Art. In 2017 I completed my masters in Fine Art at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton.

After graduating I found employment in the finance department of a large insurance company where in May 2020 I was promoted to Vendor Analyst. Since graduating I have also married my wonderful partner of 10 years, travelled to some amazing places (most notably South Korea and Japan), rescued my bearded dragon Fuji, and much more!

Whilst initially my time was taken up with work and organising my wedding, time saved by working from home and not having to commute during lockdown has allowed me to recently concentrate on my artwork.

Earlier this month I graduated from the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton!

Last night was the private view for the Winchester School of Art MA degree show. It went well; the atmosphere was great and the feedback was positive. I’ve attached some close-up photos of my drawings.
