Priley Riley, Inspiration, January 2022

As my current artwork is inspired by bearded dragons, I plan to share experiences showing my interest in lizards more generally. I hope this will provide additional context on my interests and artwork.

Last week I visited Bristol Zoo, home to an impressive collection of well looked after reptiles. My photos show my personal favourite the leptien's spiny-tailed lizard, the majestic rhinoceros iguana, a sleepy emerald tree monitor, and stunning electric blue day gecko.

In the future, I would consider creating artwork inspired by a wider range of reptiles, and could use my own photos from visits like this to work from.

Priley Riley, Gallery Visit, December 2021

Last week I visited the National Gallery in London. There were so many noteworthy artworks, but on this visit I most enjoyed seeing: Bacchus and Ariadne by Titian, Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh, and The Red Boy by Sir Thomas Lawrence. All three use colour so beautifully. Outside the gallery the atmosphere was festive with the Christmas market.
